Dr. Pankaj Pohekar is a distinguished Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeon (CVTS) with a comprehensive educational background and vast experience in his field. He completed his M.B.B.S. at Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) in Karad, followed by an M.S. in General Surgery from the renowned Topiwala National Medical College (TNMC) & BYL Nair Hospital, Mumbai. Dr. Pohekar then pursued super-specialization, earning an MCh in Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery from the same prestigious institution. This rigorous academic journey laid a strong foundation for his career in managing complex cardiac and thoracic conditions.

Currently, Dr. Pohekar serves as a full-time Consultant CVTS Surgeon at AIMS Hospital in Dombivli, where he performs a wide range of cardiac and thoracic surgeries. Apart from his work at AIMS Hospital, he is also a visiting consultant at several leading healthcare facilities, including Horizon Prime Hospital in Thane, Lion Tarachand Bappa Hospital in Sion, K.J. Somaiya Medical College in Mumbai, Tieten Medicity Hospital in Thane, Ulwe Superspeciality Hospital, NewEra Hospital in Vashi, Surana Sethia Hospital in Chembur and Indravati Hospital in Airoli. This broad network of affiliations highlights his versatile expertise and dedication to providing exceptional cardiac care across different regions.

Dr. Pohekar's professional experience extends beyond clinical practice into academia. He has served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of CVTS at the Government Medical College & Superspeciality Hospital, Nagpur. Additionally, he held the position of Assistant Professor and Unit Head in the Department of CVTS at Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences & Kasturba Hospital, Sewagram, Wardha, and at SBKS Medical College & Dhiraj Hospital, Sumandeep Vidyapeeth in Vadodara, Gujarat. His academic contributions involved teaching and training the next generation of cardiovascular surgeons while also heading surgical units, thus integrating his expertise into both education and patient care.

In addition to his academic roles, Dr. Pohekar has worked as a Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon at multiple hospitals across Maharashtra. His previous positions include Consultant at Sahayog Multispeciality Hospital in Gondia and Asha Superspeciality Hospital in Kamptee, as well as Suretech Hospital in Jamtha, Nagpur. Through these roles, he has handled numerous high-risk and complex cardiac surgeries, further solidifying his reputation as a leader in the field of cardiovascular surgery.
